The Owners

The Faces Behind Nairn Wool Shop

Marie and Adam, a mother and son duo, own and run Nairn Wool Shop. Now in their 17th year of business, they are situated in the picturesque seaside town of Nairn in the Scottish Highlands.

Adam enjoys crochet, cross-stitch, needle-felting, multi-media art, machine sewing, and knitting. He also plays several musical instruments, sings in a local acapella choir, and is a trained confectioner and skilled cook. During lockdown, he discovered a new passion for gardening.

Marie is passionate about knitting, dressmaking, weaving, felting, beadwork, multi-media art, crochet, and cross-stitch. She also enjoys gardening, long walks, and is an avid reader.

The Shop

Nairn Wool Shop

Nairn Wool Shop is located on Falconers Lane, with views from the King St car park (opposite the bus station), making it easy to find for first-time visitors.

The shop features a spacious studio/workshop and a large retail area, offering a wide selection of specialist wools, yarns, knitting accessories, fabric, threads, sewing accessories, and more.

The shop continues to showcase handcrafted items by local crafters and artisans, providing unique pieces from the Highlands. Additionally, they host regular Knit n Knatter social groups throughout the week, which have been running for 15 years. Visitors can bring their projects or simply come to socialize with fellow crafters. Days and times are available on the events page.
